THE STORY
You are on a jungle safari in central India. You hear the deep roar of a tigress. Will you see her today? Depends on your stars. Hours pass as you search. It’s hot and dry; brown leaves cover the forest floor. Suddenly your guide stops the Jeep and there she is. On the road. Sitting like a house cat. You’ve never been this alive.

THE NOTES
  • The perfume opens with the woody-ness of cedarwood and patchouli.
  • Juxtaposed with this are middle notes of jasmine, tobacco, iris, and ‘nagarmotha’—nutgrass.
  • Notes of cloves, turmeric, coriander, & Indian black pepper—a hot spice accord—are sprinkled throughout.
  • Base notes of sandalwood (pure Santalum album), Indian and Haitian vetiver, and amber provide structure.

MY EXPERIENCE
This is an intense, woody perfume with a notable bitterness of tobacco. It is minimally floral with gentle Jasmine to give balance to the bitterness. Black pepper and cloves are pronounced at the start, thorn-sharp. Long after, the sandalwood emerges—a memory of the wilderness.
