Jaya is inspired by a painting from the Indian subcontinent created during the Mughal era c. 1710-20. It depicts a meeting of two royals in exquisite detail. Flowers bloom in the garden. On a carpeted terrace, a princess pours wine. Peaches, apples, and pomegranates are served on a platter, while the attendants bring jewels and a vial of perfume. In Sanskrit, Jaya means “victory.” This perfume celebrates the royal couple's victorious union.
Monsoon rains make a grand appearance with thunder and lightning. Mad winds rush from the sea. Arms outstretched you get drenched. It is the season of amorous blooms—the heady roses, divine jasmines, and oh, the opulent, mesmeric tuberoses! If this were a gala, you'd wear blooms and outshine the red carpet. This season is an aphrodisiac.
